What is the best time of year to visit Hoi An?
The ideal time to visit Hoi An is during the dry season, from February to July. The weather is mostly sunlit and pleasant, making it perfect for walking tours and beach visits. The months of February to April are highly recommended as the temperature is very comfortable.
How do I get to Hoi An from the airport?
Hoi An does not have its own airport. The nearest one is Da Nang International Airport (DAD), located about 30 kilometers away. From there, you can easily reach Hoi An by booking a private transfer with our agency, taking a taxi, or using a shuttle bus. The journey takes approximately 45 minutes.
Is Hoi An a walkable city?
Absolutely! Hoi An's Ancient Town is extremely pedestrian-friendly. Motorized vehicles are banned from the Old Town during specific hours every day, making walking or cycling the best and safest ways to explore the historic streets, local shops, and cafes.
Do I need to buy a ticket to enter the Ancient Town?
Yes. To support the preservation of this UNESCO World Heritage site, visitors are required to purchase an entrance ticket. One ticket provides access to the Old Town's general pedestrian area and allows you to choose 5 specific sightseeing spots out of the 22 heritage buildings, museums, and assembly halls.
What local food is an absolute must-try in Hoi An?
You cannot leave without trying "Cao Lau," a signature noodle dish featuring thick rice noodles, roasted pork, and local greens, made exclusively with water from the ancient Ba Le Well. Other honorable mentions include "White Rose" dumplings (Banh Bao Vac) and the famous Vietnamese Banh Mi.
